Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Unitify (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the Unitify mobile application (the “App”). Unitify is designed to work without requiring you to create an account, and the vast majority of your data (conversion history, favorites, custom converters, settings) stays only on your device.

Information We Collect

Information stored only on your device. Your conversion history, favorites, custom converters, theme, and language preferences are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us. Uninstalling the App deletes this data.

Purchase information. If you purchase the optional one-time Pro Unlock, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to verify your purchase and unlock Pro features; RevenueCat receives an anonymized purchase receipt and device identifier, not your payment details (card numbers, billing address). See RevenueCat’s privacy policy for details on how they process this data.

Advertising identifiers. If you are on the free (ad supported) plan, Google AdMob may collect your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, after you grant App Tracking Transparency permission, or the Android Advertising ID) and general technical information (device type, OS version, approximate location derived from IP) to serve and measure ads. Pro users see no ads and this data is not collected for them.

Crash and diagnostic data. If crash reporting is enabled, we use Sentry to collect crash logs and basic device/app version information to help us fix bugs. This data is not linked to your identity.

Usage analytics. If analytics is enabled, we use PostHog to understand which features are used, on an aggregated and anonymized basis, to improve the App.

Currency rate requests. The Currency converter fetches exchange rates from a third-party public rate API over the internet. This request does not include any personal information beyond your IP address, which is inherent to any internet request.

How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above solely to: operate and improve the App, verify and fulfil purchases, display and measure advertising for free-plan users, diagnose and fix crashes, and understand aggregate feature usage. We do not use your data for any purpose beyond these.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google AdMob (advertising) — policies.google.com/privacy
  • RevenueCat (purchase management) — revenuecat.com/privacy
  • Sentry (crash reporting, if enabled) — sentry.io/privacy
  • PostHog (analytics, if enabled) — posthog.com/privacy
  • Apple App Store / Google Play (payment processing)

Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell your personal information. We only share the limited data described above with the named service providers, each acting as an independent data processor/controller for the purpose of providing their respective service (advertising, purchase verification, crash reporting, analytics).

Data Retention

Data stored locally on your device remains until you clear it in-app or uninstall the App. Data held by our third-party service providers is retained according to their own retention policies, typically for as long as necessary to provide their service or as required by law.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (including under the GDPR in the EU/UK and the CCPA/CPRA in California). Because we collect very little identifiable data directly, most of these rights can be exercised by clearing the App’s local data (Settings) or adjusting your device’s ad-tracking permission. For requests involving our service providers, contact us using the details below and we will assist where we are able to.

Advertising Choices

On iOS, you can control ad tracking via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or by responding to the App Tracking Transparency prompt. On Android, you can reset or limit your Advertising ID via your device’s Google Settings → Ads. You can also remove all ads permanently by purchasing Pro.

Children's Privacy

Unitify is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

International Data Transfers

Our third-party service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, these providers maintain appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

Security

We rely on the security practices of Apple, Google, and our third-party service providers to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we and our providers take reasonable measures to protect information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
